Information and Reservations
First, I should mention that we are usually closed during May, part of June, September, October and part of November. Please see the exact dates on the rates page
We have just written a page outlining the reservation process. But you will still need to contact us. We prefer to communicate directly with our future guests and have opted not to use an automatic system.
For communication we use e-mail, info@bosquedelriotigre.com There is no telephone service to our area. We now have satellite for our internet and no longer have to travel to Puerto Jimenez to get our email, so email is definitely the fastest most reliable method of communication. Unfortunately, just like everything down here, it is not 100% reliable and every so often the satellite connection fails. When this happens we get to Puerto Jimenez as soon as possible to retrieve emails but it may be 24-48 hours before we can get there. We apologize for this inconvenience but since we are a very small and not very commercial lodge and prefer responding to your letters personally, we have not hired a company to do our reservation work for us. Thanks for your patience.
Of course with the internet communication we should be able to use VoIP but at the moment the uplink to the satellite is not very good so usually we can't use the phone that came with the system. Hopefully we'll get that worked out by next "high" season.
We have a cell phone number that works in the main town and has voice mail. We try to retrieve our messages at least once a week or maybe twice, but since our various phone services do not always work well there are no guarantees. 8705 3729
Although email is the best method for last minute communication and reservations we do have a communications office in Puerto Jimenéz which has radio contact with us but due to our mountain location the radio contact is not always dependable either. The attendants all speak English. This office provides communication and travel services for several lodges so please ask for Bosque del Rio Tigre. If we are not immediately available to answer your request via radio, please leave a phone number and the best times to call. Also if you have a specific question, they will continue to try and reach us and get back to you with an answer. 2735 5062
Reservations, which are best made by e-mail, are recommended and enable us to provide you with the highest quality of service possible.
Please include a phone number in your letters, when possible, since communication modes are not always dependable.
We are happy to help with your other travel arrangements including purchase of your local airline tickets, local car rental, other hotel reservations and tour arrangements. Additionally, we can arrange for a taxi to meet you at the airport or bus stop.
